Tasks to Complete:

Instruction will be geared toward the following tasks to be completed in the course of the 16 hr. workshop (with homework) - Each participant will:

  1. Take the CTAP Assessment of Technology Proficiencies for Educators.  

  2. Develop your Individual Learning Plan for reaching your target proficiency level based upon recommendations from the CTAP Assessment. 

  3. Access and printout the rubric for the "Technology  Proficiency Standards for Educators".

  4.  Format and name a disk.

  5.  Create and name a folder on the disk for each Proficiency level.

  6.  Save CTAP summary results in the proper folder

  7.  Download and save each file from the Teacher Portfolio Template directory to its respective folder on the disk.

  8. Customize the portfolio template to display your own documents.

  9.  Read and place a signed copy of the LAUSD Acceptable Use Policy in your portfolio binder.

  10.  Read and place a signed copy of the LAUSD Software Licensing Policy in your portfolio binder.

  11. Search for The National Education Technology Standards for Students on the Web.

  1. Download and save a all files from the student portfolio template directory to new folder on your disk.  (Later, your students can customize this template to display their own projects.)

  1. Develop a standards-based lesson with a student project as a culminating task (Project must incorporate the use of technology.) 

  2. Create a template for the student project in #12.

  3. Work on selected items in portfolio requirements list
