Set up your document

1. Properties-> Document -> General -> Document Title (Give your document a title - " the name of your school") -> Apply.
2. Click on the "Appearance" tab-> then Background -> (select a color for your background) -> Apply

3. Click on the "save"  button on the toolbar, and save your document file on the desktop. (If it is you first page, save file as "index")

4. To see how your background will look on the Web, click on the "preview in browser" button  on the tool bar.

5. Change the heading to state the name of your school. Include your school's address and phone / fax numbers as well as a link to LAUSD.
 
6. Type in the information under the various sections above.

7. Click on  to save your work

Creating "Anchor" links. This is for linking images and text within the same page.

1.View this page in preview mode, and the notice how some of the subject titles (from Language Arts to Social Studies) are linked to the corresponding text information. You are to do the same with the remaining subects.

2. Place your cursor at the place where you want the link to point, and click on the anchor  button on the toolbar. When the dialog box appears, give your anchor a name.
 
3. Highlight the words. Then click on the link editor button. When the dialog box appears, first type in # and then the name of your anchor (without spacing - #anchorname)

Add a "mailto" Link:

1- Highlight the word or image you want to use for your link.

2- Click on the "link"  button  In the dialog box, type "mailto:" and your e-mail address.   Example: < mailto: carolyn@ary.net >


Once you have finished inputting your information. Delete all of the red type.
