Guidelines for Discussion

The discussion board is the meeting place for the online course. It is where we interact with our colleagues, discuss the readings for the week, share ideas, offer and receive advice.  Each session will require you to post your response to the assignment prompt as well as respond to the comments of at least two other participants. Please make your presence known by joining in the discussion. This is how course participation is gauged. Lurking will not earn you course credit.

Responding to the assignment prompt:

Relevance Response should be relevant to the readings assigned for the current week's session.

In-depth Response should reflect in-depth knowledge and understanding of the assigned readings and activities  as evidence by comments and examples used.

Responding to postings of other participants

Relevance Specific response is relevant to the topic under discussion and to remarks in the original post

Discussion Extended Remarks serve to extend the discussion through questioning or adding additional information or introducing new information relevant to the original message.
Professional Courtesy Remarks are positive and courteous especially when offering advice for improving one's work.
