You are called upon to join a team of
genocide watchers to study situations in various regions of the world
and determine what can be done to prevent and stop mass killings.
Each person will study an instance of genocide
and compare the common factors of each with your team. You will identify the
progressive stages of genocide that led to the massacres and what could have
prevented further progression at each stage.
You will examine current conflicts and determine if they are at a
stage leading toward genocide. Then you will answer the question:
What can we do to prevent and stop mass killings in our
world?
- Should we get involved only when our national
economic or security interests are at stake?
OR
- Should we also get involved for humanitarian
purposes?
