Phase One - Research:
- Divide yourselves into teams of four.
- Use the resources
provided to research Causes
of World War II
and the events that led to U.S.
involvement.
- Listen to Walter
Cronkite reporting from the battle zone.
- Locate some graphics to include in your
project.
- Download the Timeline
Template. Unzip and save it in your own folder.
- Develop a Timeline

Each person will individually
list 5-10 important events from your research.

Together your team will
arrange your combined lists of events in sequential order on a timeline
(complete with graphics) establishing their cause effect relationship.

Open the 'index' file of the
timeline template in FrontPage 2000 (or any web page editor) and add all of
your information for your timeline. [Note -
The 'index'
file is a frame set. If you are using a different web page editor,
you may need to open one file at a time. Begin with the 'banner' file.]

Be sure to document the
source of all information and graphics used on your timeline.

- Open the essay organizer and leave it open.
- Use Thesis
Builder to help you create a thesis statement
around which you will build your persuasive essay in defense of the
"Four
Freedoms."
- Copy and paste your thesis statement into
the first section of the Essay
Organizer.
- Save this document on your computer.
- You will then fill in the topic sentences
and supporting details to back up your thesis statement.
- Write your first draft.
Fourth
Finally
- Exchange papers again to
proofread
your essays.
- Write and submit your final draft to your
teacher for publication.
