For every occurrence there is a cause. However, the occasion of the event may not necessarily be the cause. This is not always immediately evident, but by tracing events backward, we can usually arrive at the root cause. 

In analyzing events that occur in human society, we must take into consideration not only physical causes but also political, psychological and  philosophical causes or reasons for people acting and reacting in a certain way to incidences. Events that have occurred in history are no different. 

This WebQuest  will help you to understand the causes of World War II and of U.S. involvement in the War.  It will also call upon you to apply the steps in the writing process to create a persuasive essay.
